New York, Sept 2025... the flagship event for the Gates Foundation in their quest to keep the world accountable for its SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) commitments.

Wow! What a show. Never have I needed a more life affirming reminder of the beauty and brilliance of humanity. Incredible individuals with stories of hope even when progress is under threat.

We learned that for the first time in decades, this year more children will die from PREVENTABLE diseases than in 2024. The most critical time in a child's life is from 0-5 years. As the mother to a 5 year old, I am devastated for the parents who have buried their kids before their fifth birthday. It shouldn't happen. It doesn't need to happen. Vaccines save lives. Science is truth. Progress is possible.

More pledges of vast sums were made by Bill Gates and his Gates Foundation.

Goalkeepers were lauded, from religious leaders to politicians to nurses and patient advocates.

We danced and cried and celebrated all together. Honestly, it was incredible! Jon Batiste and host Olivia Wilde brought the sunshine too.
