Giant Hannah

Ooof... I wasn't expecting that at 8am on a Tuesday!

On entering Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, pre-caffeine, I was hit with a giant version of myself nonchalantly grinning back at... me. Giant Hannah was in fact bigger than actual hannah. She looked confident and poised. I hadn't even put my heels on yet 😬

Turns out, I can switch it on pretty quickly and it was wonderful to be back in the company of the great and good of British Nuclear. In geo-political crises like ours, the need for energy security along with a clean, affordable, continuous and sustainable energy source has never been greater.

This was the poster for the actual event - Nuclear Strategy GB 2026 - which I was grateful to host for the third year running. This annual Spring trip gives me the chance to stay with an old friend and his family in Manchester (shout out to football commentator extraordinaire, Dave Stowell!) and of course to re-engage with all stakeholders in the nuclear community.

I'll be joining the team in Gdansk, Poland this June for Nuclear Strategy Europe. No idea if there'll be a similar size poster of my mug on arrival.

And to the friends who've asked... No, I didn't take this one home with me! (can you imagine how mortifying the journey would be!)
