My husband and I met at journalism college many, many moons ago so have always found ourselves in the same industry (never as rivals, I should add). A while ago he decided Social Media wasn't really for him. Bit too toxic, not serving him in any healthy way. Plus he had a breastfeeding partner who clung to her phone for every connection she could get to the real world in the midst of a postnatal lockdown. I'll admit i've been phenomenally crap as Lewis's social media manager over the last five years, but think I've now got time and creativity alongside my Claude co-conspirator to give it a whirl. Plus since i've now stepped away from mainstream news presenting, and finally got my mojo back, I've realised that I can (and should) take a more active role in promoting not just me and what I do, but also Lewis and what he does (and I used to do)... Though I can't say i've ever had the quick wit he has to be so brazen on air!
As I trawled through his old instagram account last night I was reminded that he hadn't always been so publicly restrained. In fact there was substantial library of puns and dad-jokes - all of which had made it to national television - which he had been more than happy (dare I say even proud?!) to promote.
So, in tribute, I give you some of the best/worst of those puns and reactions from over the years. I should add that this is all very much LVJ in his 30s. I'm sure his 40s have made him far smoother, greyer, sophisticated etc...
